plain stone with E.M.H. and B.H. E.M.H. was Ethyl May Herring, born May 17, 1882 and died May 18, 1884. And, B.H. was Beulah Herring, born December 1, 1883 and died February 6, 1884. They were both infant daughters of Willis Dabney Herring and Lucy Emma Giboney. They were granddaughters of George Washington Herring Sr. and Lucy Simco, and, Peter M. Giboney and Nancy Herring. They were my 1st cousins twice removed.

Frank Herring, born Apr. 11, 1887, Callaway Co., Missouri, died Aug 14, 1887 Callaway Co., Missouri. He was a son of Willis Dabney Herring and Lucy Emma Giboney, a grandson of George Washington Herring Sr. and Lucy Simco, and, Peter M. Giboney and Nancy Herring. He was my 1st cousin twice removed. Frank and his brother Ralph share this headstone

Headstones of George Washington Herring Sr. and Lucy Simco, my great great grandparents. George and his cousin John B. Herring 1st came to Callaway Co. in 1825 to scout the land. John B. and his father Benjamin Herring, moved their family to Callaway Co. in 1830. George moved his family to Callaway Co., Missouri in the fall of 1835. George's brother Nathan and family also came in 1835, their brother John came in 1838. Pictured are 4 descendents of George and Lucy Simco Herring, Jan P. Herring, John C. Herring, and Scott Herring, all great great grandsons, and Jennifer Herring, great great great granddaughter. Picture taken in October, 2007.

George Washington Herring Sr.
Geo Herring, died July 23, 1876. George Washington Herring Sr. was born in 1794 in Albemarle Co. Virginia. He was a son of George Herring and Elizabeth Closby. George W. Herring Sr. was my great great grandfather. On Dec. 16, 1818 in Albemarle Co., Virginia, he married Polly Carver, sister of his brother John's wife Lucy Carver. She was a daughter of Jarrell Carver and Nancy Beck of Virginia. After her death, he married Lucy Simco on Dec 28, 1829 in Albemarle Co. Virginia. This cemetery is located on the land of George Washington Herring Jr. and is next to George Washing Herring Sr. original land.

Lucy wife of G. Herring, died April 7, 1896. Lucy Simco was born Nov. 27, 1808 in Madison Co. Virginia, daughter of James Simco and Frances Canaday. She married George Washington Herring Sr. on Dec 28, 1829 in Albemarle Co. Virginia. They came to Callaway Co. Missouri in 1835 and raised 10 children. Lucy Simco Herring was my great great grandmother.

Ralph Herring, born Jul 11, 1891, Callaway Co., Missouri, died Aug 2, 1891 Callaway Co., Missouri. He was a son of Willis Dabney Herring and Lucy Emma Giboney, a grandson of George Washington Herring Sr. and Lucy Simco, and, Peter M. Giboney and Nancy Herring. He was my 1st cousin twice removed. Ralph and his brother Frank share this headstone

Zelda, wife of Wm. H. Herring. Zelda Skinner Zelda was born about 1846 in Ohio, and died Oct 13, 1887 in Callaway Co. Missouri. She was a daughter of Ephram Skinner and Georgia Spurgeon. About 1864 in Callaway Co., Missouri, she married William "Tip" Herring.
