Carrington, another view of same headstone, pointing out the small piece of Nathaniel Carringtons' original headstone that is left on the ground. Nathaniel Dillard Carrington was born Nov. 25, 1859, and died Jan 31, 1912. He was a son of Samuel Carrington and Lydia A. Bowen. He was a grandson of Randolph Carrington and Katharine McGary, and, Andrew H. Bowen and Anne Summers. He married Eliza S. Herring on Feb 22, 1882. Eliza was a daughter of George W. Herring and Hester Ann Kemp, a granddaughter of John Herring and Lucy Carver, and, Walter Kemp and Jerusha Key. Nathaniel D. Carrington and Eliza S. Herring were my great grandparents.

Carrington, In Memory Of - Mother - Father - Nathan D. Jan 1912, Eliza S. Aug 2, 1941, Lydia Ann 1911, William 1896, Frank 1894, Beulah 1907. This stone was placed here by George Carrington, grandson of Nathan and Eliza, in the 1940's to mark the place where they and 6 of their 11 children were buried. Nathaniel Dillard Carrington and Eliza S. Herring, children Lydia Carrington, William B. Carrington, Frank Carrington, and Beulah M. Carrington. Also buried here are children Joe Carrington 1888 - 1889, and Peaches Carrington 1896 - abt 1899. The original headstones are gone. Nathaniel D. Carrington and Eliza S. Herring were my great grandparents.
