- Liff L. "Cal" Calvert, 66, of Weaubleau, formerly of Boone County, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, at Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw, with the Rev. Everette Mantonya officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Crutsinger Cemetery near Wheatland. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Calvert was born May 4, 1936, in Boone County to William Wallace and Elsie Mae Todd Calvert. On Sept. 13, 1969, he married Bernice Ross in Eldon, and she survives.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Galmey VFW Post 9638.
Survivors also include four daughters, Yvonne Calvert of St. Joseph, Trina Calvert of Boonville, Sheila Thacker of Phoenix City, Ala., and Lisa Thomas of Fayette; a sister, Wanda Mantonya of Wheatland; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a stepfather, Delmar Cook; a brother, Wallace Calvert; a sister, Hattie Calvert; four half-brothers, Everette Calvert, James Calvert, Elbert Calvert and Georgie Calvert; and three half-sisters, Myrtle Griggs, Madeline Griggs and Mamie Perkins
