Dear Sister
when I wrote to you in report to Brother Volneys death little did I think I would be so soon called on to write you the sad news of our dear old fathers death last Sunday week he was as well as usual he laid down about 2 oclock to take his usual rest about half past 3 oclock he was paralized in his left side which continued until 3 oclock the next Friday night when he was paralized in the other side and died Sunday morning half past 2 oclock he seemed to suffer a great deal but bour it all patiently he talked but very little after he was struck he talked much about dying for the last year or two and would do so as calmly as one would talk of going home his christian example and influence can never be obliterated from my mind he gave unmistakable evedence that he has been with Jesus and guided by our heavenly father and preserved to a good old age though we call to mourn we mourn not as those without hope shurely this sad application ought to draw us nearer to God this leaves us well Your Brother
