    • Lewis Houchins, 62 Dies At Hospital; Rites On Tuesday
      Lewis Mason Houchins, 62, of near Calwood died at the Callaway Hospital about 10 o'clock Sunday Morning. Funeral services will be held at the Ebenezer Baptist Church on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Hallie Rice and the Rev. Irvin Rice will officiate. Interment will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
      Pallbearers will be Norman Roberts, Maurice Hardin, Charley Guerrant, Lewis Hammett, Emmett Meador, and Jim Ed Houf. The body will lie in state at the Maupin Funeral Home.
      Born in Callaway County on October 31, 1893, he was the son of William M. and Anna Roberts Houchins. He married Dessie Glascock on July 15, 1918. She survives.
      Mr. Houchins was a member of the Ebenezer Church. He was engaged in farming at the time of his death. Mr. Houchins was a veteran of World War I.
      Besides his wife, he is survived by three children, Mrs. Everett J. Kettle of Fulton, Mrs. Robert N. Thomas of St. Louis, and Jewell Robert Houchins of the home; a sister, Mrs. Homer Houf of Fulton; three brothers, Robie and Hord Houchins of Fulton and Kemmie P. Houchins; and two grandchildren.
