E.W. Dunavant, president of the Dunavant Clothing Company of this city, and Miss Newell Smith, daughter of James W. Smith, surprised their friends by being married last Sunday at the home of the bride's father in Bourbon township, Rev. M.A. Hart said the ceremony.
The wedding was listed as a June event, and it's occurance at an earlier time surprised the most intimate friends of both the bride and groom. Mr. and Mrs. Dunavant are living temporarily at the Palace Hotel, but in the course of a few weeks they will begin house-keeping in the new Oscar Black dwelling on Centre street.
Mr. Dunavant is well known in both business and political circles, and is esteemed highly by all who know him. His bride is an attractive young lady whose womanly qualities have won for her a host of staunch admirers.
