FORMER CALLAWEGIAN DIES
Mrs. Ella Wood, wife of S. M. Wood, who was born and reared in eastern Callaway County, died at Springfield, MO, Friday evening, of a complication of diseases. Deceased was a daughter of the late Dick Blackburn of east Callaway and after her marriage to the Woods family, lived south of town at Pitcher, for a number of years. Latter they were in charge of the hotel at North Jefferson for several years and four years ago removed to Springfield for the benefit of Mrs. Wood's health. She is survived by two children, Russell Wood and Mrs. Zula Carvin [Corwin], both of Springfield. A second daughter, Mrs. Sallie Herring preceded her in death several years ago. Those who knew the deceased speak of her as a quite, home loving woman, a good neighbor and well thought of by all who knew her. Her old friends in the county will be saddened by news of her death.

Springfield, Missouri Republican -- January 14, 1923 Mrs. E, N, Wood Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Nora Wood, 59 years old, wife of Samuel Monroe Wood, rural route No 4, who died about 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon at the family home following a lingering illness, will be held at 3 o'clock this afternoon at the Starne Funeral Chapel. Rev. E. C. Sechler, pastor of Central Christian Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Greenlawn cemetery under the direction of W. L. Starn, undertaker.
