    •     Mrs. Granville Smith died of typhoid fever, at her home, north of Fulton, at noon yesterday.


          From the Fulton Missouri Telegraph dated Friday, 17 Oct 1907, page 5, column 2, under Deaths:


          At her home, near Fulton, Friday, Oct. 11, 1907, of typhoid fever, Mrs. Granville Smith, aged 61 years. Besides a husband, she leaves three sons and one daughter, all grown, to mourn her death. Before her marriage she was Miss Sallie Simcoe. Burial took place at Richland Baptist church cemetery, Saturday, after a sermon by Rev. W. H. Burnham.

      Notes: The date of death of Sarah "Sallie" SMITH in the second obit seems to be wrong but the first obit seems to be correct. Sarah Leah "Sallie" (SIMCOE) SMITH is said to have died about noon on Thursday, October 10, 1907, at her home north of Fulton, Callaway Co. MO. She was born 11 Nov 1845, a daughter of Whorton Canada SIMCOE and Julia A. BROCKMAN. Sallie married Granville Hudson SMITH on 3 APR 1873 in Callaway Co. MO and they had 6 children, two of which died young. Granville died 19 DEC 1918 near McCredie, Callaway Co. MO. Granville was the oldest son of James Henry and Elizabeth Marshall (DUGGINS) SMITH.
