Notes	Pleasant Dowell is found included in several Herring - Hill marriages as bondsman or witness. He also certified that Susan Hill was of age when she married Nathan. Pleasant G. DOWELL Birth: 1800 in Fluvana Co., VA Death: 1883 Pleasant was living in Albemarle Co., Va during the 1850 census of that county. He was with his wife, nancy and 2 sons and 2 daughters. During the 1860 census, Pleasant age 60 was living with his wife, Nancy age 55 and two children: Mary E. age 24 and Margaret J. age 20. The 1880 census shows that Pleasant was 80 years of age and living with his wife Nancy who was 75 and a daughter, Elizabeth, age 45 and a brother, Cornelius who was 77 years of age and listed as "married". All were born in Va. Pleasant was living in Albemarle County, Va during the 1880 census. His will is listed in WB 329, Pg 548.
