- Cave-Sandford
The marriage of Miss Rosa Sanford to Shannon H. Cave was solemnized at the Dixie Methodist church on Sunday eveningm July 27, at 8 o'clock, Rev. J.S. Bowles, of Ashland, officiating.
The bridesmaids were Miss Mayme Reynolds, of Fulton, and Miss Maud Bush; groomsmen, Messrs. Nick Cave and Sam Will Hugh.
The flower girls were little Misses Merle Bush and Annie Gathright; Miss Madge Renoe played the wedding march from Mendellshon for the bridal procession to the alter. The church was crowded with the relatives and many friends of the bride and groom who were present to witness the beautiful ceremony that made them one until death do them part.
The bride and bridesmaid were attired in gowns of white organdie and carried shower bouquets of bride roses. This wedding was the first that had occurred in the Dixie church and it was indeed, a fitting introduction of the church into the uses for such solemn rites.
Miss Sanford is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Madison Sanford of near Dixie, and is a young lady of the highest character and quite popular among a host of the younger members of society in the community in which she resides. Mr., Cave is the son of John C. cave, one of the most influential citizens of southern Callawaym and is engaged in the general merchandise business at Dixie. He is a young man of excellent business qualification and a general all around good fellow and the union of these two young people is an event that will bring abundant happines to themselves and to their many friends.
After the ceremony had been pronounce and congratulations had been extendedm the happy couple repaird to the home of the bride, where on
On Tuesday, a reception and dinner was given in their honor at the home of the groom's parents, and on both of these occasions all the good things of southern Callaway's delightful hospitality was spread before the guests, including a hearty welcome and a good old fashioned time of merry making and laughter.
The young couple will go to house keeping at once in the dwelling behind the store at Dixie where they will be at home to their friends. The Gazzette extends congratulations.
