    • Mary B. Humphreys, age 91, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2006.
      A resident of Fulton, Missouri for over 50 years, Mary Burnham Humphreys was born March 6, 1914, in Armstrong, Missouri. The daughter of Robert and Jessie Grace Burnham, Mary had one brother, the late Robert L. Burnham.
      In 1939, Mary married the late James C. Humphreys. Mary and James had one son, James B. Humphreys (Emily) of Kirkwood, Mo., and two grandchildren, Erica, of Kirkwood, Mo. and James B. Humphreys II, of Alexandria, Va., and one niece, Lynnette Campbell (William), of Chapel Hill, N.C.
      A graduate of Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg, Missouri, Mary served as Administrative Assistant to the President of William Woods University in the late 1930's and, in 1987, was named an Honorary Alumnus of William Woods.
      Active in politics throughout her life, Mary served in state government for more than 30 years as Administrative Assistant to the State Treasurer and the Director of Revenue.
      Mary was a very special and giving woman. She became a friend to everyone she met. Mary will be remembered for her kind heart and her love for her family. The family would like to thank the staff of Surrey Place, St. Luke's Hospital's Skilled Nursing Facility, for their dedicated and personalized care.
      Memorial Service, 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 21, 2006, at Debo Funeral Home, 833 Court St., Fulton, MO 65251 Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour preceding service.
      In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Mary Humphreys may be made to P.R.I.S.M.S. (Parents and Researchers Interested in Smith-Magenis Syndrome) in honor of her granddaughter, Erica Humphreys.
