Evelyn Grace Hunt, 89 of Vandalia, formerly of Auxvasse, died at 10:40 p.m., Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at Tri-County Care Center.

Evelyn was born July 24, 1919 in Callaway County, the daughter of Euel Tate and Gertrude Pasley. She married Lee Hunt in 1938. He preceded her in death on Aug. 17, 1986. Evelyn was an Auxvasse resident until 1994.

Survivors include two sons, Dale Lee Hunt and wife, Judy, and Bobbie Wayne Hunt and partner, Sue Lucas, all of Mexico; her grandchildren, Marty Hunt and wife, Kelly, and children, Molly and Katey of Jefferson City, Patti Bell and child, Baillee of Prescott, AZ, Merri Lea Marshall and husband, Bruce, and children Heather and Cory of Lees Summit, Jimmy Wayne Hunt and wife, Shelly, and children, Tanna, Cheyenne and Cassidy of Mexico, Lori Harlan and husband, Aaron and children, Josh, Caleb and Noah of Mexico, Robin Gearhart and husband, Philip of Dewy, AZ, Aaron Hunt and son, Ethan, of Riverside, Ca.; three nephews, Gary and Rex Pasley and Dana Moss; two nieces, Deana Kay Chavez and Pat Brandis; and one cousin, Marcelle Hickman.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Euel Tate Pasley and wife, Neva; one sister, Nadene Pasley Moss and husband, Taylor; and one niece, Karen Chavez and husband, Mac.

Evelyn attended the Methodist Church in Auxvasse. She was employed at the Auxvasse Drug Store for several years. She became an LPN, worked at Audrain Medical Center and retired from the Columbia Orthopedic Group in 1981. After retirement, she worked as a hostess at Gasper's Restaurant in Kingdom City. Evelyn loved needlework, dancing and taking walks with her dog, Zeba and her dear friend, Louise Wilburn. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. And most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
