Lucy A. Fletcher was my great grandAunt. She was born in
Callaway Co. Missouri, Jan. 1, 1857, a daughter of John F. Fletcher and Judith Simco. She was a grandaughter of John Sr. and Mary Fletcher, who came from Virginia to Callaway Co. Missouri about 1826. She was also a grandaughter of James Simco and Francis Canada.
On January 11, 1870 in Callaway Co., Missouri, she married Edward Martin Sitton. Edward Sitton's brother, Isaac Sitton married Lucy's sister, Sara Jane. Edward was born Dec. 18, 1844 in Callaway Co., Missouri. He was a son of John Sitton and Sally Jamison. He was a grandson of Jeffery Sitton of North Carolina. Jeffery married Polly Bostick of North Carolina, and settled in Callaway county in 1819.

Tebbetts Man Died; Two Brothers Ill
One of Them in Critical Condition and Death Expected at Any Time Another In Hospital
George H. Sitton Succumbs Tuesday After Contracted Cold
George Robert Sitton, 59 years old, a life-long resident of Tebbetts, where he had been a farmer ___ of a prominent Callaway county family, died suddenly at 8:00 o'clock Tuesday mrong, January 5, 1937, at St. Mary's hospital in Jefferson City. He had been in the hospital only a few hours.
Mr. Sitton contracted a cold, Saturday, and he suddenly became very sick Monday night, after which he was rushed to the hospital.
His death proves of more than ___ sadness for his relatives and friends, another brother, W.A. Sitton, also a farmer, living near Auxvasse, is critically ill and his death expected at any time, and a third brother, Thomas R. Sitton of Tebetts, is seriously ill in a hospital ___ Jefferson City.
Mr. Sitton was a son of the late Edward M. Sitton of Tebbetts. His mother, Mrs. Lucy Sitton is still living.
Besides his mother he is survived by the widow, two sisters, Mrs. L.E. Boyd of Tebbetts and Mrs. Louis Berghauser of Fulton, and six brothers, W.E. Sitton of Guthrie, C.R. Sitton of Tebbetts, Thomas Sitton, Tebbetts, Harry Sitton of Denver, Colo., R.L. Sitton of San Diego, Calif., and W.A. Sitton of Auxvasse.
Funeral services for Mr. Sitton were held at 1:00 o'clock, Wednesday afternoon at Tebbetts with burial in Riverview cemetery.

Mr. E. Vance Sitton, age 95 years, of Holts Summit, Mo. and a former resident of Tebbetts, Mo., died Saturday, August 18, 2007, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born August 17, 1912, at Tebbetts, Mo., the son of Charles Raymond and Lucy Bell Sitton.
He was married December 1, 1950, at Mokane, Mo., to Opal Beatty Keely, who preceded him in death on November 1, 1999.
Mr. Sitton had attended the schools at Tebbetts, Mo. and was a member of the Tebbetts United Methodist Church, Tebbetts, Mo. He was a charter and lifelong member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge #596 of Tebbetts, Mo. for 72 years, a charter and lifelong member of the Princess Rebekah Lodge #813 of Tebbetts, Mo. for 69 years, a member of the Kingdom Telephone Board, the Callaway County Levy Board and had been active with the Tebbetts Community Building Center. Mr. Sitton had been a farmer during his lifetime and had also been employed at Fulton State Hospital, and with the Sitton Trucking Company.
Survivors include two sons, __ of Centralia, Mo. and __ of Jefferson City, Mo.; four grandchildren, 5 __ 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Raymond Sitton; and one sister, Clarice Maxine Sitton.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at the Buescher Memorial Home with the Rev. Anselm Williams officiating. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Tebbetts, Mo. Visitation will be at the Buescher Memorial Home, Tuesday, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with the I.O.O.F. Lodge Memorial Service to be held just prior to the funeral service. Memorials are suggested to the Tebbetts Community Building Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of the Buescher Memorial Home.

Edward M. Sitton was a farmer and lived in Callaway Co., Missouri all his life. He died February 24, 1924 in Cote Sans Dressien Twp., Callaway Co., Missouri. He was buried in River View cemetery, Jefferson City, Cole Co., Missouri.
Lucy A. Fletcher Sitton died March 16, 1940 in Callaway Co., Missouri. She was buried in River View cemetery, Jefferson City, Cole Co., Missouri.
