John Thomas Fletcher was my great grandUncle. He was born in
Callaway Co. Missouri, Sept. 1, 1857, a son of John F. Fletcher and Judith Simco. He was a grandson of John Sr. and Mary Fletcher, who came from Virginia to Callaway Co. Missouri about 1826. He was also a grandson of James Simco and Francis Canada.
He married Annie Eliza Hill, probably in the mid 1870's. Annie was born Nov. 2, 1853 in Callaway Co., Missouri. She was a daughter of Charles Hill and Sarah J. Tatum and a grandaughter of Charles Hill and Molly Hill, and, Thomas T. Tatum and Mary A. Herring. She was my 2nd cousin 3 times removed and also my 1st cousin 4 times removed.
Annie Eliza Hill and John Thomas Fletcher had four children:
- Gertrude Enola Fletcher, b: Dec 14, 1878, Callaway Co., Missouri.
- Married Mar 4, 1903, Edward F. Gregory, b: abt. 1883, Missouri.
- Children:
- Herbert Gregory, b: abt 1904, Missouri
- Mabel Gregory, b: abt 1905, Missouri
- In 1910, this family was living in Salt River Twp., Ralls Co., Missouri. Edward was a general farmer. I have not found them after 1910.
- John H. Fletcher, b: Jan. 18, 1881, Callaway Co., Missouri, d: Aug. 20, 1962, Callaway Co., Missouri, buried Hillcrest Cemetery, Fulton, Callaway Co., Missouri
- Married 1st, Mar 5, 1902, Mrs. Nora Angerer, b: abt 1880, Missouri, d: after 1910. She is on the 1910 census, married to John H. Fletcher, however by 1920 he is married to someone else. I don't know for sure if she died at that time or they divorced. Her name before she married might have been Watkins. Their sons, Charles Fletcher and Cecil Fletcher are not on the 1920 census, but I know that Charles lived until 1973.

- Married 2nd time Feb 25, 1912, Callaway Co., Missouri, Annie Lee Fisher, b: July 11, 1881, Callaway Co., Missouri, d: Feb. 8, 1954, Callaway Co., Missouri, buried Hillcrest Cemetery, Fulton, Callaway Co., Missouri. She was a daughter of Charles Henry Fisher and Martha Jane Boggess. She had previously been married to William Martin.

In 1930, Annie Eliza Hill Fletcher, John H. Fletcher's mother is living with this family. In 1930, John H. Fletcher was a foreman at the State Asylum, the family lived in Fulton, and son Charles and family lived next door.

John Thomas Fletcher died on February 26, 1897 in Callaway Co., Missouri. He is buried in Prairie Chapel cemetery, Callaway Co., Missouri.
After her husband's death, Annie and her four children were running their farm in the 1900 census. In the 1910 census, she was still running the farm, living with her son Charles Allen Fletcher and grandson Harley. Living next door was her mother, Sarah J. Tatum Hill. In 1930 she was living with son John H. Fletcher and family.
Annie Eliza Hill Fletcher died May 20, 1931 in Callaway Co,. Missouri. I have not found her grave.
