William T. Carrington was born on June 2, 1815 in Montgomery Co., Kentucky. His family came to Callaway Co., Missouri when he was eleven. He was my 2nd great granduncle, a son of Randolph Carrington and Katharine McGary.
In 1839 after the death of his parents, the courts made William the guardian of his brother Samuel, and sisters Nancy and Permelia Carrington.
On March 12, 1840, he married Susan Clark Fisher. She was a daughter of Thomas Fisher and Isabella Humphreys, a granddaughter of William Fisher and Susan Peck, all of Virginia. Susan was born Oct. 23, 1821 in Callaway County Missouri.

His parents were Gerard Davis and Amelia Day. His grandparents were Truman Day and Mary Saunders (my 5th great grandparents through my mother's side). His brothers Gerrard and Francis both married into my Holt family, sister Elizabeth married into my Caldwell family, brother Charles married into my Overton family.

- William Z. Hook b: May 21, 1872 d: Aug 7, 1946, St. Louis, St. Louis Co., Missouri. Living with the Sanders Davis family (his cousin) in 1900. Census shows him born Dec 1871, the 1872 date came from the William T. Carrington document. He is a clerk in the zinc mines.

On the 15th of August, at the residence of her grandfather, Judge William Carrington, Nannie Carrington Hook, aged three years, 10 months, and 29 days.

Mrs Bettie Carrington Hook, 91 years old, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs Mary Lyle, Dallas, Texas, Sept 7, leaving one daughter, two granddaughters, two great granddaughters in Dallas, one grandson of Wink, Texas, a brother and numerous kin. Her death leaves W.T.Carrington the only surviving member of the old Judge William Carrington family, one of the many to flourish before the Civil War. Mrs. Hook was left alone with four small children in 1877 in the midst of the great depression and with little help from direct surroundings she set to work in Fulton as a seamstress to support and educate her children which she did quite well.

- Sisters Emma and Mary lived together all their lives, taking care of their father in the last years of his life. Mary died two years after her father, Emma lived for 27 more years and taught at a boarding school in Jefferson City.

- Paul Carrington b: Sept 24, 1894 Missouri d: May 28, 1988, Dallas Texas, married Frances Dewitt, b: abt 1896, d: 1992, in Texas.
- Professor William T. Carrington lived in Jefferson City, Missouri. (In 1894 State Democratic Convention nominated him for State Superintendent of Public Schools). They had two sons. The older became a physician and for many years the president of the school board in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The younger, Paul, became a lawyer in Dallas
This couple is living in the home of James S. Nations in Oak Ridge, Cape Girardeau County, MO, in the 1880 Census, both shown as school teachers.
In the 1910 Census, the family is living in Springfield, Greene County, MO, and William T. Carrington is listed as President, State Normal. That is the state college in Springfield.
In the 1930 Census, William and Mary are in Jefferson City, Cole County, MO, and William is shown as a 76 year old teacher.
On the 1930 census, William T. age 76, owns home valued at $9,000. He owns a radio, and got married at age 25. Occupation teacher. He was the author of the Carrington Doc. research paper which gave the ancestry of the Carrington family.
- Emma Fisher Carrington, b: Apr 22, 1858, Callaway Co. Missouri, d: Nov 26, 1920, Jefferson City, Cole, Missouri. She is buried in Carrington Cemetery, Carrington, Callaway Co., Missouri.

William Carrington was commissioned Captain of Co. 1 of 24th Battalion Reg., 12th Div. of the National Guard. He held this position for many years and prepared a fine group for the war of Mexico and drilled many who later entered both sides in the War among the States.
In 1851 he was a liberal contributor to the founding of Westminster College, one of the first Protestant Educational Institutions of college rank established in Missouri.
In 1860, William Carrington owned 6 slaves. Following the Civil War, Mr. Carrington was made County Judge
Susan Clark Fisher Carrington died on May 25, 1879 in Callaway Co. Missouri. She is buried next to her husband in the Carrington Baptist Church Cemetery, Carrington Missouri.

Carrington - In Memoriam Died at her residence, May 26th, 1879, from disease of the heart, Mrs. Susan C. Carrington, in the 57th year of her age. She was a daughter of Thos. Fisher and wife of Judge William Carrington.
