	Dennis Crowson Dies at Hospital Pioneer in Taxi Business Here Dies Early Monday Morning Dennis Crowson, 74, a pioneer in the taxi business in Fulton, died about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Ellis Fischel Hospital, Columbia. He had been a patient since August 24. He had undergone surgery last Thursday for the removal of a kidney and had never recovered. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Maupin Funeral Home. The Rev. J.H. Wagner will officiate and burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Born of January 4, 1878, on a farm north of Fulton, Mr. Crowson was the son of the late Edward Herdon and Elizabeth Dawson Crowson. He was married to the former Miss Beulah Craighead, who survives. He began his taxi business in Fulton in 1902 when he operated a livery stable on East Fifth street. He sold the livery stable in 1909 but continued in the taxi business, housing his motor vehicles in the livery stable. His business was known as "Crowson's Taxis" and was operated until about two years ago when Mr. Crowson was injured in an automobile accident on Highway 40. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four brothers, Martin of McCredie, Clarence of Fulton, Willard of Kirkwood and Edward of St. Louis; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Pzias of Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Gordon ___ of Gasconade, Mo.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
