    • E.H. Crowson Died Suddenly.
Edward H. Crowson, senior member of the firm of Crowson & Son, liverymen of this city, died suddenly in a buggy in front of his livery barn of East Fifth street Saturday afternoon. He was taking a patron's horse and buggy to the barn and, arriving at the door of the stable, was in the act of getting out of the vehicle when he fell. Death was almost instantaneous. Mr. Crowson had been a sufferer from stomach trouble, but on the day of his death, as well as for some time previous, he had appeared to be in better physical condition and spirits.
He was born in this county, northwest of Fulton, October 8, 1850, the son of William Crowson, a Callaway pioneer. He was married in 1875 to Miss Bettie Dawson, of this county, who, with seven children survives him. The children are Dennis, Martin, Clarence, Edward and Miss Aurie, of this city; Mrs. John Burhop, of Mexico, and Willard, of St. Louis. Two sisters, Mrs. William Patton, of this city, and Mrs. Mary Dysart, of Andrew county are living also. Mr. Crowson lived on a farm until nine years ago, when he moved to Fulton and engaged in the livery business.
Mr. Crowson was a gentleman whose quiet ways and strict attention to his own business gained for him the enviable reputation of being without an enemy, and his loyalty to his friends and tenderness to his family were traits of character that caused all who knew him to esteem him.
Funeral services were conducted Monday morning at the Fulton Methodist church by Rev. T.W. Alton and Dr. John F. Cowan. Bural was with Macoabee honors in the new cemetery.
