    • Mrs. Gray Is Dead At New Bloomfield
Native of Boone County Died Friday Afternoon At the Age of 80 Years.
Mrs. A.P. Gray, 80 years old, a native of Boone county who spent her entire life in the Boone and Callaway counties, died at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon at her home in New Bloomfield, after an extended illness. She had been a sufferer from inflammatory rheumatism for fifteen years and had not been able to walk in that time. Three weeks ago, erysipelas developed and she grew weaker until death came.
A funeral service will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Hopewell Baptist church, two and a half miles west of New Bloomfield, by the Rev. K.E. Magruder, and burial will be in the cemetery of that church.
Mrs. Gray's maiden name was Paralee Burnett. She was born in August, 1850, in Boone county, where the early part of her life was spent. The family later moved to Callaway county, and practically all her live was spent within the confines of these two counties. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist church, seven miles west of New Bloomfield.
Besides her husband, Abner P. Gray, she is survived by two children, C.G. Gray of Jefferson City, and Miss Vallie Gray, at home. Two sisters, Mrs. Susie Coons, of Moberly, and Mrs. Hill Blackburn, of Fulton, and two brothers, George Burnett, of Ashland, and Thomas Burnett, of Tulsa, Okla., also survive. She also leaves six grandchildren.
