Aged Woman Dead
Mrs. Rosa M. Hardin, who would have been 94 years old nex Sunday, died Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ed. Houshins; northeast of Fulton. Her death is attributed to old age. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at Ebenezer Baptist church and burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Hardin's maiden name was Crowson, and she was born in 1820 in Boone county. She came to Callaway county in her early childhood, however, and probably lived here as long as any person now in the county. Her first marriage was to Harvey Wilcox, who died about 68 years ago, and her last marriage was to Elihu Hardin, whosse death occured about 35 years ago.
Three duaghters and two sons survive Mrs. Hardin. They are: Mrs. Ed. Houchins, Fulton; Mrs. J.E. McKee and Mrs. Sallie Coombs, both of Ponca City, Okla.; J.F. Wilcox, St. Joseph, and thomas Wilcox, who resides in Kansas. Three sisters also are living, namely; Mrs. Lou Fleischmann of the state of Washington; and Mrs. Hettie Harvey, of St. Joseph.
Mrs. Hardin was a member of Prairie Chapel Methodist church many years. She lived a long and useful life, was a good mother and neighbor, and her death is mourned by many friends and relatives.
