Mrs. Maggie Hill
Mrs. Maggie Hill, wife of W.C. Hill residing northwest of town, died of consumption on Sunday, July 31, 1904, aged 32 years. She was a member of the Christian church and a woman of many good qualities, helpful, sympathetic and useful, and in her long affliction was one of the most patient of surrerers. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O.T. McClellan, and besides the husband, leaves six children to mourn her untimely death.
Burial took place at Central churchyard on Monday, Elder Egan Herndon conducting the burial services.

Notes	Confusing bit of information, in John's obituary, it gives a surviving son named Tom. There is no record of this son on any census. He is not on 1900, he would have been born after 1900 but before 1904. He is not on 1910. Maggie's obituary says she leaves 6 children, a son named Tom would make the 6th child. The only reason I can think of why a child is not on the census from a very young age is that something was medically wrong with him and he was sent away to a home or school somewhere else. Another "very" odd fact is that on the 1910 census, Maggie is listed as wife. Maggie died in 1904. I have a photo of her headstone, and I have a copy of her obituary. I am sure this is the correct family on both census years. I have her obituary, I have a picture of her headstone. The obit has a misprint in her husband's name, giving only initials and has a C instead of a J. Her headstone does say wife of J.W. Hill.
