    • Mrs. Louise Jane Carter, wife of John G. Carter, died at an early hour Monday morning Jan. 25, 1905, at her residence in Fulton of heart trouble, from which she had been a sufferer for several months. Mrs. Carter was a first cousin of the late Gov. Thomas A. Hendrix of Indiana. She has only on brother living, Mr. Marshall Hendrix, of Bachelor, Mo., She leaves a husband who is now in his 85th year, and who has the heartfelt sympathy of a host of friends in his sad bereavement.

    • Found her on 1860 census living in house of William Carrington age 23... no reason given. 1860 shows that she has two brothers, John 25, James 21, all from Kentucky, living alone on a farm, no other Hendrix in the county. I can find no connection between these families, I imagine she was working at the Carrington house. 1870 turned up a lot of Hendrix, one son Charles born in 1876 married Annie Carrington, RR's daughter. These Hendrix were from Virginia and appear to have been in Mo. quite a while, maybe not in Callaway.
