Death Ends Long Union

Mrs. Margaret Altheiser, aged 83, wife of Alexander Altheiser, died Friday, at her home, two miles west of Calwood, of senile debility.

Mrs. Altheiser was born in Kentucky June 22, 1827, and as a result her death ends an unusual marriage union, Mr. and Mrs. Altheiser having lived together 68 years. They were married in Indiana in 1843 and fourteen children were born of the union, six of whom are living. Her husband is four years her senior.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday morning by Reverend Dollet, of Fulton, and internment occurred in the Ebenezer Baptist church. Mrs. Altheiser joined the Baptist church at the age of fourteen and one year later was married. Although she had been ill for several months hope had been entertained for recovery until the last few weeks.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a half sister, seven children and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. The children are; T.J. Altheiser, F.T. Altheiser, Mrs. Jacob Womacks, Mrs. Frank Bagley, Mrs. Powell Qualls and Mrs. Ollie Nevins, all of this county, and Mrs. Elliot Qualls, of Mexico.
