 Note: James E. - oldest son. Worked for many years at his cousin's mill in Bourbin Co., Missouri. the Herring Mill. He Married Eliza R. Conger on Apr. 11, 1857. Her brother, John Conger, married Jame's sister, Jane Francis. I have not found any record of a Kennett. He had two daughters, Sarah E. and Cora L. James was born Dec. 26, 1831 in Albemarle Co., Virginia and died Apr. 26, 1918 in Boone Co., Missouri. He and wife Eliza are buried in the Carrington Baptist Church Cemetery, Carrington, Callaway Co., Missouri.
 
 Note: Julia A. - second child. Named on the original page as Priscille and Aunt Puss. Julia married Albert Samuel Fletcher on Jan. 31, 1856. They had 7 children; George C., William R., Leona A., James E., Samuel, Lucy A., and Martin Lonnie. Julia A. Herring was born abt. 1883 in Albemarle Co., Virginia and died abt. 1878 in Callaway Co., Missouri. Not much is know about her husband, this family has been very hard to trace. "Aunt Puss" must have been a nickname.
 
 Note: Georgianna - third child. Married William Ewing, a school teacher, on Apr. 19, 1860. He was previously married to Lucy Ann Maupin). They had no children. After his death in 1876, she married Francis Brandon on Jun. 7, 1877. They had no children. Mr. Brandon was the Mayor of Fulton. His daughter by his first wife married a grandson of John B. Herring, William Dawson, who was also politically active in Fulton. Georgianna was born May 27, 1835 in Albemarle Co., Virginia and died Jan. 18, 1913 in Callaway Co., Missouri. She is buried in Pioneer Cemetery, Fulton, Missouri, with her first husband.
 
 Note: John Luther - 4th child. Married Rebecca Skinner abt. 1860 (sister of Zelda Skinner who married his brother William). They had 10 children; Sarah, George, Emma, Eliza, Mary, James, William, Lucy, Thomas, and Porter. They lived in Monroe Co., Missouri, and spelled their last name Herron. John Luther was born May 2, 1837 in Callaway Co., Missouri and died Dec. 22, 1922 in Monroe Co., Missouri. He and his wife are buried in Philips Cemetery, Leasburg, Missouri.
 
 Note: Jane Francis "Jeannie" - 5th child. Her name was not Virginia. 1st husband, John Conger (brother of Eliza Conger who married Jane's brother, James), married Oct. 22, 1857. He was killed while fighting on the side of the Confederacy in 1862 at Kennesaw Mt. Georgia. They had 2 children; Lee Roy and Florance Ann. 2nd husband, Benjamin Suggett, married Dec. 22, 1864. They had 3 children; Benjamin, Mary, and Otho. Mary married Sterling Price Beaven, who was a State Senator. 3rd husband, Cal Craighead, married abt. 1878. They had two children; Gertrude and Nellie. Jane Francis Herring was born Dec. 9, 1838 in Callaway Co., Missouri and died Feb. 24, 1929 in Fulton, Callaway Co., Missouri.
 
 Note: William Harrison "Tip" - 6th child. Married Zelda Skinner (sister of Rebecca who married Tip's brother John Luther), abt. 1864. They had 3 children; Anna, Jane, and Lucy. I have found no record of a son. He was a farmer, but later lived in a boarding house in Fulton. He was born Jan. 6, 1840 in Callaway Co., Missouri and died Feb. 15, 1923 in Jefferson City, Cole Co., Missouri. I believe he is buried in Herring Cemetery. We found pieces of his wife's stone there, but not his.
 
 Note: Mary E. - 7th child. Married Feb. 13, 1870, George Gannaway. They lived in St. Louis, Missouri. They had one child; Oscar. Mary E. Herring was born abt. 1843 in Callaway Co., Missouri and died Jan. 10, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri.
 
 Note: George Washington Jr. - 8th child. Married Josima McNerva Allen, Feb. 19, 1871. She was later called Josephine, but her legal name was Josima. George was a veteran of the Civil War on the side of the Confederacy. They had 13 children, 11 who lived to be adults: Dolor, Clyde (Bob), Seth, Myrtle, Lelia, Mayme, Brent, Grover, Herbert, Norman, Allen, Ruby, and Woodson. George was a farmer living south of Fulton most of his life. He moved to Fulton in his later years. He was born Feb. 14, 1846 in Callaway Co., Missouri and died June 15, 1929 in Fulton, Callaway Co., Missouri. Josima was born Apr. 16, 1854 and died Dec. 6, 1922. They are buried in Hillcrest Cemetery, Fulton, Missouri. Their headstone is missing but I am working on getting the V.A. to put a Civil War veteran marker there. They were my great grandparents.
 
 Note: Susan E. - 9th child. Married Thomas Van Bloom, Jan. 12, 1868. They had 2 children; Dora and William. In 1898 Susan signed some legal papers using the last name of King. I have not yet found any more information.
 
 Note: Willis Dabney - 10th child. Married Lucy Emma Giboney on Jun. 9, 1881. She was the daughter of Peter Giboney and Nancy Herring, a granddaughter of John Herring and Lucy Carver. (John, brother of George W.Herring Sr.) I have found records of 7 children, only two lived to be adults; Ethyl, Beulah, LeRoy, Frank, Obie, Ralph, and Eunice. The children are buried in the Herring Cemetery, as are their parents and grandparents. LeRoy and Obie lived long lives in Callaway Co., Missouri. Willis Dabney was born May 10, 1851 in Callaway Co., Missouri and died Oct. 12, 1932 in Callaway Co., Missouri. Lucy E. Giboney was born Dec. 6, 1863 in Callaway Co., Missouri and died Apr. 15, 1928 in Callaway Co., Missouri.
