Criswell Cemetery
Also know as Graveyard Hill Cemetery- located in the NE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of section 7 township 46 north range 10 west. 1.7 miles north of Guthrie on Rte J., Callaway Co., Missouri.

I believe the last name is Humphreys, stone is worn away and mostly unreadable.

I believe this is Martha Hudson Criswell, wife of Robert Wesley Criswell. Born Dec. 26, 1837 Died Sept. 1, 1857. Married R. W. Criswell Oct. 15, 1856 in Callaway Co., Missouri.

Stone is in pieces. This was Rev. James Criswell, born abt. 1806, died abt. 1861. On Oct. 15, 1835 in Callaway Co., Missouri, he married my 2nd great grandaunt, Jane Gamble Allen.

Jane G., stone is sunken into the ground, rest unreadable. It was located next to Rev. James Criswell and the Jane G. is readable, so assuming this was his wife, Jane Gamble Allen. She was a daughter of Joseph Allen and Mary Margaret Murphy, a granddaughter of John Allen and Margaret Gamble. She was my 2nd great grandaunt. On Oct. 15, 1835 in Callaway Co., Missouri, she married Rev. James Criswell.

Nevins, Nancy E., wife of James Nevins. Nancy E. McCutchen was born Mar. 21, 1798 in Virginia, died Sept. 18, 1867, in Callaway Co., Missouri. She married James Nevins.

Nevins, James, Born Jan. 29, 1798 in Virginia, Died Jan. 8, 1861, Callaway Co., Missouri. James Nevins was a son of John D. Nevins and Margery Dickson. He married Nancy E. McCutchen.

Guthrie, Felix R., son of S.N. and A. Guthrie, Born Nov. 20, 1858 Died Dec. 16, 1860. Felix Guthrie was a son of Samuel Newton Guthrie and Ann S. Nichols. He was a grandson of Samuel Taylor Guthrie and Sarah Phillips, and, Felix Nichols and Elizabeth Ann Renoe.

Holeman, Sarah E., wife of Wm. H. Holeman, Born Dec. 26, 1831 Died Feb. 24, 1859. Sarah Elizabeth Guthrie was a daughter of Samuel Taylor Guthrie and Sarah Phillips. On Apr. 29, 1857 in Callaway Co., Missouri, she married William Henry Holeman.

Nevins, Mary J., wife of John D. Nevins, Died Sep. 10, 1846 Aged 28 ys 3 mo 4 ds Jun 6, 1818. Mary Jane Fisher was a daughter of Thomas Fisher and Isabella Humphreys. On Sep. 5, 1838 in Callaway Co., Missouri, she married John Nevins.

Humphreys, Richard. Died July 17, 1839, aged 51 years. Richard Humphreys married Elizabeth Nevins.

Addison B., son of Thos F. & M.E. Guthrie, Died Jan. 12, 1863 Aged 2 yr 6 ds. Addison B. Guthrie was a son of Thomas Franklin Guthrie and Mary Elizabeth Clatterbuck. He was a grandson of Samuel Taylor Guthrie and Sarah Phillips, and, Micagor Clatterbuck and Margaret Howard.

Nannie E., dau. of G.T. & M.A. Foster, Died Oct. 12, 1875, aged 2 yrs 9 ms 30 dys. Nannie E. Foster was a daughter of George T. Foster and Martha Ann Guthrie. She was a granddaughter of Samuel Taylor Guthrie and Sarah Phillips.
