| stone is hard to read. Elizabeth B. Wright, wife of my 3rd great granduncle, Reuben B. Overton. She was born in Virginia in 1802, and died in Callaway Co., Missouri in 1853. She was originally buried elsewhere and later moved to Hillcrest. | |

| R. B. Overton died 186? Very hard to read. Reuben B. Overton, born 1799 Louisa Co. Virginia. His parents were Lewis Overton and Sarah Gibbs of Madison Co. Virginia. He married Elizabeth B. Wright. Reuben was my 3rd great granduncle. | |

| HERRING, Silas W. Dec 1, 1851 - May 24, 1939 Nannie A. His Wife June 25, 1856 June 19, 1941. Silas W. Herring was a son of William Jerrod Herring and Rebecca Ann Knight. He was a grandson of John Herring and Lucy Carver. He married Nannie A. Mirts on November 7, 1878 in Callaway Co., Missouri. Silas was my 1st cousin 3 times removed. Nannie Mirts was a daughter of Isaac Mirts and Lydia Sayder. | |

Smith was a daughter of Ella Truell and James W. Smith. On Dec. 5, 1894 in Callaway Co., Missouri, she married my 4th cousin twice removed, Edmund W. Dunavant. She was his first wife, they had two children. | |
| Herring, William J., Born Oct 25, 1825 - Died May 22, 1905. Rebecca A., Born July 12, 1827 - Died Sept 22, 1911. Asleep in Jesus oh how sweet. William Jerrod Herring was a son of John Herring and Lucy Carver, Grandson of George Herring and Elizabeth Closby, and Jarrell Carver and Nancy Beck. He came to Missouri from Albemarle Co. Va. in 1838 at the age of 13. On Sept. 14, 1848, he married Rebecca Ann Knight, daughter of William L. Knight and Eliza Hornbuckle. She was born in Callaway Co. Missouri. William and two of his brothers all married Knight sisters. William J. Herring was my 2nd great granduncle. | |

| Grogan Family. Sarah Ellen Carter, born Feb. 2, 1851 - died Apr. 30, 1912, and Patrick J. Grogan, born March 1846 - died Feb. 7, 1908. She was a daughter of John G. Carter and Matilda J. Herring, a granddaughter of Robert P. Carter and Mary Polly Smith, and, John B. Herring and Mariah Hill. Patrick was an immigrant from Ireland/Canada. Alma Carter Grogan, July 12, 1890 - June 24, 1914, a daughter, is also buried here. The Grogan family lived in St. Louis. There is a duplicate of this stone in Calvary cemetery in St. Louis where most of their children are buried. Sarah Ellen Carter Grogan was my great grandaunt. | |

She was a granddaughter of James Simco and Francis Canada, and, John Fletcher and Mary unknown. On Aug. 29, 1839 in Callaway Co., Missouri, she married John R. Carter. Margaret Fletcher Carter was my great grandmother and also my great Aunt through the Simco side. | |

Herring, and, John F. Fletcher and Judith Simco, b: 11 Oct 1868 d: 3 Jun 1944. On Sept. 26, 1894 in Callaway Co., Missouri, he married Mamie Nancy Dorris. She was a daughter of Joseph Dorris of Tennessee and Nancy Hammond of New York. Her grandfather was McDaniel Dorris. Thomas was my granduncle. | |
