On Mar 12, 1875 in Callaway Co., Missouri, he married Martha T. Turner. She was a daughter of Cary Turner and Eliza A. Rolling. | |

Thomas Wesley Herring was born Feb. 22, 1839 in Callaway Co., Missouri, a son of John Herring and Lucy Carver, a grandson of George Herring and Elizabeth Closby, and, Jarrell Carver and Nancy Beck. On Feb 11, 1864 he married Mary Jane Young, born Apr. 7, 1846 in Callaway Co., Missouri. She was a daughter of Joseph Young and Nancy Nichols. Thomas died Aug. 5, 1916 in Fulton, Callaway Co., Missouri. Mary Jane died Jan. 13, 1920 in Round Prairie Twp., Callaway Co., Missouri. They had 10 children. Thomas Herring was my 2nd great granduncle. | |

He was a grandson of George Washington Herring Sr. and Lucy Simco, and, John Karah Allen and Mary L. Walker. He lived to be 107 years old. He was my granduncle. On Apr 28, 1901 in Callaway Co., Missouri, he married Sarah (Sallie) Ann Cave. She was a daughter of Henry Cave III and Mary E. Groves, and a granddaughter of Henry Cave Jr. and Sarah (Sally) R. Allen. She was my 2nd cousin twice removed. | |

He was a graduate of Westminister College in Fulton, and was a teacher in Callaway, Osage and Miller counties. On Sept. 28, 1873 in Osage Co., Missouri, he married Mary E. Groves. He was a grandson of John Herring and Lucy Carver, and, Joseph Young and Nancy Nichols. He was my 1st cousin 3 times removed. He married Sally Alta Wood on Jun 1, 1902 in Callaway Co., Missouri. She was born April 11, 1886 in Missouri and died March 3, 1916 in Callaway Co., Missouri, a daughter of Samuel Woods and Ellen Blackburn. They had two children. After her death, he married Mrs. Clara May Wood Dunavant on Jan 3, 1917 in Callaway Co., Missouri. She was born Dec. 25, 1879 and died Dec. 15, 1966. All three graves are marked with the same stone. | |
