| This cemetery is in very bad shape. It is right along the edge of a gravel road. There are no markers for this cemetery. It is very overgrown and very few of the stones are standing on their own, many are broken pieces. | |

| John Herring, born 1798 in Albemarle County Virginia, died September 14, 1864 in Callaway County Mo. Everyone buried in this, John Herring's family cemetery is either his child or grandchild or spouse of either. On Dec. 3, 1818 in Albemarle Co., Virginia he married Lucy Carver. Lucy Carver Herring is also buried here, but we could find no trace of her stone. She was born Apr. 16, 1796 in Albemarle Co., Virginia and died Mar. 20, 1873 in Callaway Co., Missouri. She was a daughter of Jarrell Carver and Nancy Beck. John and Lucy Carver Herring were my great great great grandparents. | |

| G.W.H. footstone for George Washington Herring. His headstone was not found. He was born July 10, 1823 in Albemarle Co., Virginia and died Sept. 20, 1878 in Callaway Co., Missouri. He was a son of John Herring and Lucy Carver, a grandson of George Herring and Elizabeth Closby, and, Jarrell Carver and Nancy Beck. On March 9, 1843 in Callaway Co., Missouri, he married Hester Ann Kemp. He was my great great grandfather. | |
| Hester A. Wife of G. W. Herring, Died Aug 27, 1899, aged 75 ys. 5 ms 29 ds. Hester Ann Kemp, born Feb. 28, 1824 in Franklin Co., Virginia, died Aug. 27, 1899 in Callaway Co., Missouri. She was a daughter of Walter Kemp and Jerusha Key, a granddaughter of Thomas Cauper Kemp and Esther Maxey, and, George Key and Susannah Craghead. On March 9, 1843 in Callaway Co., Missouri, she married George Washington Herring. She was my great great grandmother. | |
| William H. Son of J.P. & A.J. Herring, died Apr. 6, 1851, 9 months. William H. Herring, son of John P. Herring and Amanda Jane Knight. He was a grandson of John Herring and Lucy Carver, and, William L. Knight and Eliza Hornbuckle. He was my 1st cousin 3 times removed. This headstone was sunken into the ground, we dug out around it in May 2007 and most of the headstone was then readable. | |
