Hyten and Nancy McGary, a grandson of Josiah Hyten and Rebecca Caywood, and, Major Hugh McGary and Mary O'rafferty. He was born in Kentucky and came to Missouri as a child. His wife was Elizabeth Boyd, who he married on 24 Mar 1842. Elizabeth was a daughter of Thomas Boyd Jr. and Ann Davis. She was a granddaughter of Thomas Boyd Sr. and Grizella Allen.
