Joseph C. Smith, Dec. 10, 1847 - Sep. 11, 1923. Frances C., his wife, Jan. 28, 1851 - Mar. 28, 1922. Joseph C. Smith was a son of William Haines Smith and Polly Mary Kemp. He was a grandson of John Kemp and Fannie Dudley. He was my 2nd cousin 4 times removed. On Feb. 30, 1874 in Callaway Co., Missouri, he married Frances C. Brooks. She was a daughter of P.D. Brooks and Frances Gilbert.
