James Russell Hampton, US Army, World War II, Nov. 29, 1919 - Jan. 26, 2003. Hazel Jean Hampton, Beloved wife mother and grandmother, Oct. 20, 1924 - Feb 26, 2004. James Russell Hampton was a son of Amos L. Hampton and Martha Ann Tharp. On Oct. 27, 1945 in Fulton, Callaway Co., Missouri, he married Hazel Jean Gathright. She was a daughter of Virgil Gathright and Alta Craghead, a granddaughter of John Thomas Gathright Jr. and Ida Florence Newsom, and, James Lewis Craghead and Laura Belle Herring. She was my 3rd cousin once removed.
