Gideon C. Herring, May 29, 1831 - Nov 3, 1914. Lucy J. His Wife, Nov 15, 1837 - Feb 4, 1924. Gideon Carver Herring was a son of John Herring and Lucy Carver, a grandson of George Herring and Elizabeth Closby, and, Jarrell Carver and Nancy Beck. He was born in Albemarle County Virginia and came to Callaway Co. Mo. in 1838 at the age of 7. On Aug 26, 1857 in Callaway Co., Missouri, he married Lucy Jane Simco, daughter of Reuben Brooks Simco and Sarah Cowherd Hill. She was a granddaughter of James Simco and Francis Canada, and, John Hill and Agnes Brockman. Gideon was my 2nd great granduncle, Lucy was my 1st cousin 3 times removed.
