James K.P. son of W.J. and J. A. Selby born Oct. 30, 1844 died Nov 4. 1864. James P. Selby was a son of William J. Selby and Julia A. Turley. He was a grandson of John Selby and Rebecca Jones. He was killed by Union troups at the Ham Brown barn on Four Mile Creek, west of Hatton and southwest of Gantt near the intersecton of Audrain, Callaway, and Boone Counties.
